Why book a San Francisco wedding videographer?

When booking a San Francisco wedding photographer, you look for one that understands light, emotion, posing, but most importantly, you search for someone who has an amazing personality. These skills are equally important when looking for a wedding videographer, but you must take it a step further. In addition to the qualifications above, a good wedding videographer needs to also understand sound, story, editing, motion, pacing, and music. The best wedding videographers understand that video offers the story behind a photograph. You’ll see a photo of your mother crying, but the video will show you the moment and story behind that tear. In a picture, you’ll see your dad laughing at a speech, but in the video, you’ll hear the audio that made him laugh.

We know photography is a timeless art and must-have for couples. What we also know is that videography is the best medium to complement it, so you can hear the stories, relive the laughs, and cry all over again.

What are the different wedding film styles?

When searching for a San Francisco wedding videographer, you’ll find many styles. Modern, clean, edgy, hipster, slow-paced, upbeat, etc. We recommend going to a few videographers’ blogs and viewing at least five recent videos. Most wedding videographers will put their best work on their homepages, but it’s essential to see recent work. By viewing these five videos in a row, you’ll pick up on their style and tendencies. You’ll also notice what makes us different.

What makes us different?

Our focus is always on the couple. We strive to create unique videos that aren’t cookie cutter. We do this by blending artistic angles with unique stories. Each wedding may follow a similar timeline, but each couple is different. You’ll find a lot of dramatic videos and ones that feel staged, but we tend to focus on real moments that make your video feel unique to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our cinematic 3-5 min highlight film, 10-12 min short film, and 15-20 min feature film are all set to music. This is the style of films you see in our film gallery. With these films, we pick the best moments of the day to tell a cinematic story. We’ll use some speeches and vows to narrate the story, but only the juicy stuff. These are the films you will share constantly with family and friends.
  • Our “Live Ceremony and Speech” edits are documentary-style edits. These edits are straight forward edits of the events. We cut between each appropriate camera angle and use all of the natural audio for the ceremony and speeches. These edits are great for watching the event in its full nature just how it happened.
  • If you want full live documentation of the event, you can also add-on an extended live edit. This is a live edit of the full ceremony, speeches, grand entrance, formal dances, cake cutting, and bouquet/garter.
Our contract states six months, but currently, we average a 3 month turnaround time.
Yes. All of the packages on our website are customizable. For example, you can choose our classic package, but add-on the live ceremony and speech edits.
We normally arrive at least an hour ahead of time on the day of the actual event. This gives us time to scout out great filming areas and become familiar with the grounds.
All of our packages come with 2 videographers, but we normally shoot with 3-4 cameras for the ceremony and reception. This allows us to get more angles and make a more dynamic footage. We shoot with Sony HD-DSLR cameras that shoot in full 1080p. We also are capable of shooting your wedding in 4K for an additional fee.
In order to book us, we require a signed contract and a 30 % retainer to reserve the date. The balance is due 2 weeks before the wedding.
Yes. Raw footage is available for sale up to 90 days after the wedding.
If the Client wishes to postpone or otherwise amend the date of the event proposed within this contract, they must notify the videographer in writing. If the newly proposed date is agreeable to both parties, all monies paid will transfer to the revised date per a newly written and signed amendment. For events postponed within a 6-month window, no additional fees will be charged. Should the event be postponed beyond 6 months of the original date, a 10% postponement fee will apply except for events held on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
Yes. We work much better when we’re fed a hot meal 🙂
